POWER HITTER.
RECORD BREAKER.
HERITAGE CARRIER.
Mya Perez is a standout first baseman for Texas A&M Softball, hailing from Corona, California. As a freshman, she made an immediate impact—starting in pivotal moments, recording 9 hits, 9 RBI, and launching a game-tying three-run homer in the Super Regional versus Texas that ignited her confidence.
By her sophomore year at Texas A&M, the trajectory she set had fully materialized. Mya shattered a 43-year-old Texas A&M record with 73 RBI, posted a .424 batting average (third-best in program history), tallied 16 home runs, and ranked among the top 20 nationally in RBIs and on-base percentage. Her performance also earned her NFCA All-American Second Team, All-SEC First Team, and prestigious Academic All-American First Team honors—the first Aggie to receive that recognition since 2008 and just the fourth in the program’s history.
Rooted in her Mexican-American heritage, Mya also represented Team Mexico on the international stage—earning Player of the Day honors with a grand slam in the Pan Am Women’s Championship.
Whether it’s hitting a clutch grand slam or inspiring younger athletes with her leadership and quiet confidence, she plays for something bigger than herself—her family, her roots, and the little girls who look up to her. On game day, you’ll find her rocking her signature pink sparkly bow—a reflection of the joy and confidence she brings to the field.
Off the field, you’ll catch her fishing, getting her nails done with teammates, or just enjoying life’s simple moments.
Mya’s mantra? "Trust the process." Because she’s not just building stats—she’s building a legacy.
